Pultrusion is a continuous closed moulding process that combines fibre reinforcements and resins.
The pultrusion process is used in the fabrication of composite parts that have a constant cross-section profile, such as tubes, square boxes, angles, channels, etc.
Advantages:
- Can produce high strength profiles, due to high fiberglass content.
- The production rate is high due to the automated process.
Disadvantages:
- The machine and moulds are expensive.
- Needs highly skilled people to operate the machine.
